please help ......
my service light is in the red. i bought the car used and not sure if the previous owner went throught any service with this car or not. how do i know if this is for a service I or service II? if so, do any body have a list of things that are being service in I and II?
The major service intervals are at ~15K and 30k miles, although the exact milege will vary since the service lights cycles are dependant on how the car is actually driven. My guess is that this in an oil change servicing. I'd do an oil change and then get ready to do an inspection II at 60k miles.
If you really want to know for sure, get a Peake code reader and read the codes.
Here's a list of Inspection I and II items.

the red light should be accompanied by the word service or inspection.
likely if vehicle was serviced and inspected on schedule and lights were reset each time that 55k miles would be the second inspection 1-not 2.
certainly, it would ease your servicing now to learn if a thorough inspection 2 was performed about 35-40k miles.
Yes if the car was regularly maintained, it would be inspection I again, my car had inspection II done at 46k miles, and i take it at around 60k miles i will have another one inspection I
thanks all..this really help.
i do have the reset tool but not the code reader.
does anyone have a code reader that is willing to lend to take a quick read that live in san francisca, ca ?
