E36 M40 Camshaft replaceent help!

Sorry to bring this up again but I really need the help!

My 318i has just hit 131k, and she's ticking like mad. i got a new camshaft kit, incl camshaft, rockers, thrust pads etc etc but could do with a little more help to fit it!

According to haynes, once the rocker cover is off, all can easily be accessed and replaced. is this correct? Id ont want to take the cover off until I am sure what needs to be done.

Also, if i get it off and host commentry with picture links will you guys help me wade through to make her sound like a car rather than a tank again!?

Anyone heard of / seen threads on this being done on an M40 engine before?

Thanks in advance

You won't get too many responses, the M40 never made it's way across the pond.

I know on the M50 motor, you are supposed to use this massive and expensive special tool to remove the camshaft, otherwise you run the risk of bending it. I heard of someone rotating the cams until just one set of valves was putting pressure on the cam, then unscrewing all the other bearing journals first. It can be done, but it sounds like it would be VERY easy to make an expensive mistake.
