I took the car to the dealer to see what my ABS code is and it is a sticking right solenoid. They say I need a new pump and I am not paying their prices for a new one plus install. I called a local BMW shop and they quoted me $650 or so for a used pump, installation, and bleeding. I called a few online salvage places and they have them for $150-200. My question is, how hard is it to change the pump? I have done rotors and pads, but never any ABS or master cylinder work. Is it difficult? Thanks

Bleeding will obviously be the most difficult part. Installation would be fairly straight forward. If you have a way to cycle the pump to bleed it (bypass a relay?) that would help. |
