I just installed the UUC ssk this weekend. Let's say you were under the front of the car looking at the link straight back towards the end of the car along the driveshaft. The common problem I've heard is that a clearance issue happens since the geometry of the new shift lever is redesigned, and that is solved by bending the lever to clear the guibo. However, when I look at the alignent of the link and the quibo, my link does not cross the guibo at 12 o'clock, but rather at 10 or 11. So I'm thinking that bending it won't solve that problem. In reality, there is a slight "grind" only when shifting into second, because that's when the link is pushed closest to the quibo. 3,4 and 5 are all fine an no rubbing issues. I was wondering if I could perhaps grind down, or "thin" the link about 2-3 millimeters at the point of contact (I don't think I'd need more to clear and grinding) to sove the problem. I don't know if that would cause any structural problems for the link, make it too weak or something.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Igor
