I have a 1991 525 se it has 153,000 miles on the clock and has been fairly well maintained as the previous owner was a mechanic. Since i bought it I have replaced the thermostat and had all the disks replaced as i seemed to have a warped one. Recently while driving the car has just been losing power, lime it is dying altogether on me. If I turn off the ignition and then back on again it sorts itself immediately. Anyone any ideas what the cause may be? I am also losing a small amount of water weekly but there does not appear to be a leak anywhere. The head gasket has been tested and seems ok ( so the ex owner / mechanic says ). Is it true this car has a timing chain and therefore needs no belt replacement? And lastly I seem to be getting another warped disk as the wheel judders when braking lightly. Any ideas what could be causing my disks to warp? All suggestions and answers apart from get rid of that heap of junk much appreciated :-)
