Any reason I can't use three parts of 5W-30 and two parts 15W-50 Mobil 1.

I can't find 0W-40 easily. I can get 30 and 50 weight in 5 quart jugs for $20 at the evil Wal-Mart.

30 is too thin and 50 is too heavy for my intended summer use.

Wal-Mart seems to be the only place I CAN find it regularly! If not there, check autozone or advance auto, they usually have some, just somewhere you would never find it.

As to your question though, it seems sound. Should leave you with 11.66W-43.33 ;)

11.66W-43.44 would be cool.

I can find individual 0W-40 quarts @ $4.56 at Wal-Mart or $4.78 at some auto parts stores. No boxed cases, no jugs.

5 Quart jugs of 30 or 50 are $19.99 and easier to carry out of the store. I'm doing a friends car as well so, I needed a shit load of oil.
