Home-my car sounds like a bowl of rice krispies

my car sounds like a bowl of rice krispies

I've got a 2001 325i, with 16,300 miles on it. I've put 400 miles on it since its purchase. The last 100 miles i've started to get a ton of "pop" sounds from varies places on the vehicle. The moonroof and rear pillars are the worst. Both front door panels, center console area, and dash near the glove department. its just popping sounds, like shifting. there are no rattles or contious shake sounds.

has anyone else experienced this? i recently sold a 2002 Beetle Turbo S because of similiar issues. VW said the car had been put back together after bringing it in for service. My father and I took a paint meter gun to the car, and all the paint matches the factory specifications for density, so it does not appear to have been in an accident. no access to car fax though. i dont have the whole VIN # handy, but I do have the last 8 of the vin. maybe the other #'s dont change with BMW and someone would be nice enough to pull one for me. i can get the whole vin later if anyone has access please let me know. 1EE26254 is the last 8.

does anybody have ANY ideas? i thought maybe i need some new shocks, or the shock mount might be causing some troubles...

Is it because the exhaust, or other parts are cooling down because of the cooler weather? I know thats why mine does that.

i dont think so, because it happens when i first turn the car on when its cold outside, or warm outside.

and it happens after i've been driving it when its warm and cold outside.

i see your from scottsdale, i might be moving to tempe here in a month or something because of new job.

Mine does the same thing? And when I asked about it, a few different people all said that same thing. Odd...maybe they were wrong?

Really? I know this is OT from the question, but where in Texas are you moving from (if you do)?
