I was on the highway and I just got my car towed and I hit a real big bump. The hazard lights came on and the interior lights came on and the car shut off. Is this part of the crash-system (fuel cutoff)? The car just cranks and it will not turn-over.. Sounds like no fuel going to the engine. Disconnected battery multiple times and it did not give any results. Post if you kno whats goin on or email me at Jonali16@aol.com. Thanks

Did you look under the car, did you puncture the fuel tank, was there fuel leaking out when you stopped? Did you scrap the bottom of the car, upfront or in the back?

yes...that is what happens if the "accident" deemed to be serious. Your car will shut down.

only the dealer could temporary turn on the motor.

I know this for a fact bc my brother's X5 was rear ended badly. even though no airbags were deployed,

the hazzard light turned on automatically,
Interiors lights turned on automatically,
the windows rolled down automatically,
the car unlocked automatically,
and the engine shut down.

He could crank the engine..but it will not turn over. got it towed to BMW. and it cost 40K to fix his X5.

BMW had to replace the "entire" electrical system and fix the rear end.
